The Office of the Planning Regulator (OPR), the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage (DHLGH) and the Coastal Planning Authority Subgroup of the County and City Management Association (CCMA) delivered a Marine Spatial Planning workshop for staff of coastal planning authorities and relevant stakeholders in Ennis earlier this month.
The workshop, which was held on 6th of July, provided an overview of the national and strategic context for Marine Spatial Planning in Ireland and focussed specifically on how the new legislation will be implemented by coastal planning authorities and An Bord Pleanála. Presentations were delivered by senior personnel from the Department of Housing, Local Government and Heritage, the Maritime Area Regulatory Authority (MARA), Clare County Council and An Bord Pleanála.
