The OPR launched its first training event for local authority and regional assembly staff today. The webinar entitled ‘Development Management: Appropriate Assessment and Environmental Impact Assessment Screening’ will take place on Friday, 18th June from 10am to 12pm.
The webinar will be split into three parts:
Part 1 – An Introduction and Overview of the OPR’s Practice Note 01 – Appropriate Assessment Screening
Sinéad Mullen, Senior Planner with the OPR’s Research, Training and Public Awareness Team.
This will be followed by a brief demonstration of the Environmental Sensitivity Mapping Webtool by Dr. Ainhoa González, Associate Professor from the UCD School of Geography and Earth Institute.
Part 2 – An Introduction and Overview of the OPR’s Practice Note 02 – Environmental Impact Assessment Screening

The webinar is open to all local authority and regional assembly staff and there is no charge for attendance at this event.

The Irish Planning Institute (IPI) is supporting this training event and will award two CPD points to any IPI members who attend.
One of the OPR’s functions is to conduct education and training programmes for staff of regional assemblies and local authorities so that they are informed about relevant planning related developments and best practice.
