Four Councils confirm extension dates for public consultation

Following the Government’s decision to further extend all public participation periods in the planning system for 14 additional days, up to and including 23 May 2020, four local authorities have revised their deadlines for public consultation.

Louth, Westmeath, Cork County and Roscommon County Councils have all now confirmed the extension dates for public consultation.

Although public meetings relating to the plans have been suspended, you can continue to actively engage with the planning process and can make submissions via the local authority’s online consultation portal or in writing, details of which are available by clicking the links below.

County development and local area plans set out the strategy for future growth and development of local areas.  They address vital issues which shape an area’s long-term future including issues such as housing, water services, energy, transport, climate change and the environment.

Variations to plans have the purpose of updating or amending existing plans.

By making a submission to an issues paper, variation or draft county development plan you are playing an active role in your community and helping to shape its future.
